Curious if people who use psychedelics regularly have a critique of Tyler’s take? https://marginalrevolution.com/marginalrevolution/2023/07/why-i-do-not-use-psychedelics.html?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=why-i-do-not-use-psychedelics

He’s worried about his priorities changing If your priorities don’t hold up to significant introspection (even drug assisted), maybe they’re not the right ones?

A little farther down this road, psychedelics don’t optimize / cure / help anything Something happens and you get to watch it happen, that’s about it

do it because you're curious - it's a fascinating slice of the human experience taking psychedelics with these goals (depression, creativity) in mind is wrongheaded imo you get the most out of these experiences when you let go of interpretation and control and let them stand for nothing but themselves

He’s not against regular use. He’s not using em at all I don’t take em regularly anymore cause I don’t have the time. In high school they facilitated what was essentially therapy, but without any trained professionals (maybe for the best?) Nowadays I’d do em once I a while
