What's the most successful roll up using Celestia?

Do people consider Celestia an Ethereum competitor?

Is Celestia POS? How decentralized / secure? Is it EVM or something else?

celestia is a blockchain designed to be used purely by rollups

in theory it should allow to launch rollups with very cheap (and secure) fees

eg base could be deployed as an OP Stack rollup but post data to celestia instead of ethereum

closes competitors are EigenDA / Polygon Avail / ETH after 4844 (none is live yet)

I own BTC, ETH, UNI (from seed investment) and COIN. 

I have some test ERC20s in dwr.eth from testing some token-gated features in an early Farcaster client.

You know how Ethereum will introduce danksharded blobspace? Imagine that was it's own chain, optimized purely for data availability.

Celestia is just a collection of data blobs that are namespaced, and each namespace can be its own chain.

Celestia is focused on Sovereign rollups to start, so data heavy smart contracts on ethereum can offload data availability to Celestia.

It takes true understanding of blockchain tech to think of an idea like this

It’s based on a brilliant insight.

Ethereum is two things:

1. Data/State availability
2. Execution layer

Given Ethereum wants to shard the state, it breaks apart the DA and execution layer.

Celestia assumes no execution layer, and is pure DA (kinda like farcaster hubs)
