I just installed Uber on a new phone and enabled push notifications. Have received two ads in last hour. Is this normal?

Yes and it’s trash and supposed to be against Apple ToS but it’s not enforced which is BS

I wonder if Live activities work if you disable push notifications for an app. With live activities, you don’t really need push notifs from Uber

Yes and it’s actual brutal. They don’t have a way to disable the ads but the app is unusable without notifications so you either live with them or enable/disable notifications.

The most annoying part of this is that you can't mute notifications from ridesharing/food delivery apps, because then you'll miss delivery. Normally with apps that do this I would just mute.
