A related ubiquitous mistake: Look at "metrics" in the middle of a speculative mania, assume "it's only the beginning" and extrapolate to the future with eyewatering "metrics" to "rationalise" said up only hopium Reality: said "metrics" are completely unsustainable and have nothing to do with token prices anyway

more founders should burn their own money / be resourceful with grants and revenue BEFORE raising any / big funds — believe this ACTUALLY increases your chance of 'success'. when you're bootstrapping, you tend to be way more scrappy and resourceful — simply because you have no other choice. don't ask investors to sponsor your idea maze — sponsor it yourself and pitch when you're ready. even better — attract, don't chase. the way you attract is by being resourceful and building great product people want. as the saying goes, BE SO GOOD THEY CAN'T IGNORE YOU.

Listened to a podcast talking about how people have basically always had dyslexia but it only really became apparent once inventions like the printing press made reading more widespread. Makes me wonder what potential disabilities exist now but will only display in the future with new technologies
