it’s surprising how many people still think pressing the down button on an elevator is meant to make the elevator come down to them, rather than take them down. people will be people, i guess.

oh I'm those people too! The logic for me is, let's say I'm on 9th floor so I think, I have to call the elevator to come up and then press down button lol.

Blame it on bad UI Similar issue with doors with handles that are clearly meant to be pulled, but then a sign is added that you must push β€” could easily be solved by putting pull handles only on the pull side, and push plates on the push side

this always bothered me, but it's likely a bad ui. i've noticed many new elevators gave up on this and use single button only.
