There needs to be a SQL (MySQL, Postgres, etc.) editor in the same software family as Zed/Atom/VSCode/Sublime/iTerm → blazing fast, modern, highly configurable, extensible via packages, compatible with major themes, embracing of code assistants, etc.

Am I just out of the loop?

I don’t see an sql editor is a fit in a minimalist editor like zed. An SQL editor powerful enough has to be standalone

JetBrains DataGrip seems to fit most of these. I use it daily and I love it. It has an AI assistant but I have never used it.

I wish I could say with confidence that you are describing https://kx.com but I am too poor to verify.

Aren't there extensions for vsc / zed for sql?
