Under-developed idea If you really wanted to compete with Venmo / CashApp / Zelle in the US with @base and USDC. 1. Allow any wallet or payments app (e.g. @daimo) to opt-in to the program 2. Require a reasonable proof-of-humanity / KYC attestation, e.g. Coinbase Verify coinbase.com/onchain-verify 3. Any time you pay someone new you get a $1 trading fee credit on Coinbase.com. If you refer someone to Base for payments (and they use your referral link for the attestation) you get $0.10 for each new connection made for referrals. The wallet or payment app gets $0.01. 4. Periodically disqualify any clear sybil rings. Why does this work? Similar to Zora rewards, you're incentivizing people overcome the friction for getting set up. You give wallets and payment apps (which don't have a great monetization path beyond swaps) incentive to push Base / USDC as payment option. You could also do this with DAI and a more decentralized stack, but harder to coordinate.

Why don't you clean up "the bots"? Useful to be precise here: "bots" is a catch all term that people use to describe low effort, uninteresting or otherwise off-topic content. However, a "bot" is traditionally thought of as a programmatic account, i.e. controlled by a script or software. e.g. bot net When people on Farcaster refer to "bots" they are more often referring to actual people using a mobile device (with the aid of translation tools and ChatGPT) who post uninteresting content (from their pov). They are casting and replying in hopes of appearing to be a "real account" because they have learned that turns into a future economic reward in crypto. Recent tipping meta has increased the expected value of these accounts. It's possible to algorithmically label these accounts, but then you create a "shadowban" meta. So you massively increase the number of support messages and complaints. This was the state of the world before priority mode.

I am excited to announce that I have been accepted as a term member of the Council on Foreign Relations, the preeminent foreign policy organization in the USA! I look forward to strengthening crypto’s positive influence on the global financial system and the world order through the CFR. I am thankful to @coinbase, and especially @faryarshirzad, for their support in my application. As a side note, I believe I am the first milady holder to become a CFR member.

I was surprised to see Farcaster mentioned in VanEck's Ethereum 2030 price target report (https://www.vaneck.com/us/en/blogs/digital-assets/matthew-sigel-eth-2030-price-target/)

Interface now supports /farcaster identities. Sometime ago Farcaster team migrated to /ens subdomains that are stored offchain for better UX and wider ecosystem composability. We now support them too!

New on Warpcast In-app notification when a cast makes it to trending Trending = more distribution A cast on the trending feed will have a chance of being globally recommended in all Warpcast home feeds. We're also revamping the trending algorithm. Will have more casts and goal is to boost small / newer accounts.
