What are cheap, normal, & expensive hourly rates for a somewhat specialized crypto lawyer? I don't have a sense of scale.

That depends on where you live, how good your lawyer is, their specializations and their seniority. I pay between 100 and 300 Euros per hour where seniors have junior assistants. Interesting cases require multiple people to work together at the same time.

@dcposch.eth With all due respect, it seems that you see hiring a lawyer as a cost. I'm not saying it isn't. But a lawyer should be a business advisor, who can provide strategic vision to the business. How much are you willing to pay for a lawyer who helps grow your business? That's the price you should pay.

In the US NYC/CA area cheap would be around $300, normal around $650 and expensive would be above $1,200

lol at these answers. i know a firm very knowledgeable in staking that charges $1550-$2250 / hour for partners and senior counsel. if you engage them, you can usually get a blended rate with their associates and paralegals at the rates in these comments, you're not getting anything worth paying for in the US
