Would you go to Mars? (my brother and I debate this frequently. I say ‘yes’ and he says ‘no’)

Once dated a girl who grew up in Tucson AZ. Had never left the state. Never really traveled. Normal person. Middle class upbringing. She didn’t care at all about travel. Blew my mind. Seeing this it looks like she might be in the majority.

This is actually wild to me. Spiritual poverty, interesting conclusion. Can’t say I disagree but what else?

Spiritual poverty is a great expression. I have and will go anywhere on Earth but zero desire to explore the outer realms. Think you either a ‘space’ person or you’re not. Other tech I’m onboard for tho.

We need a new America to gather people who have that adventurous spirit. Mars? Can you imagine the culture that would derive from the people crazy enough to make the trip to Mars? I hope I’m alive to see it.

My answer to this would depend on perceived safety. I would definitely go if my safety were guaranteed, but I don’t care enough to risk my life if I think it’s dangerous. I wonder if others were also thinking through that lens?
