If you're wanting deep dish I prefer Unos. If you want a Chicago hot dog I say Gene and Jude's though it's not really in the city. If you're looking for an Italian beef I'd say Mr Beef. 

For things to do I love a good walk by Lake Shore Drive and favorite beach is probably Oak Street Beach for a good view of the skyline. I've never done the architectural tour on the river but everyone always recommends it even if you're from Chicago. I've also heard the gangster and ghost tour is cool. I'll forever and ever recommend the shedd aquarium or really any of the museums
