This is similar to my current concerns with the burn: Thought exercise, if fork threshold was 1 noun, i.e. vanilla RQ, then the burn wouldn't do much because auction prices would stay pretty close to BV. https://warpcast.com/wilsoncusack/0xad062676

If arbers are the one defining the auction prices, then the burn simply tries to burn the arb. If the arbers manage to fork before the burn, then there's not much to burn, and arbing is still profitable.

the spec is incorrect. Burn everyday proportional to Noun meme volatility & moneyness of the exit price. It’s an option. You have to charge for it. You can try to engineer it away but you will fail. maybe hire a quant who understands the issue properly and can do a better job explaining than me?

This is a good point. The upside of the burn with longer fork period is that it hopefully allows for growing nouns in circulation: not constantly losing to arbers.
