Trade wars turn shopping carts into battlefields 🛒💥. With tariffs pushing up import costs, everyday items like electronics & clothes get 15-30% pricier. Families re-budget while brands scramble to relocate supply chains. The hidden inflation tax hits hardest those who can least afford it. 📈💸

I have so many thoughts about this, some of them conflicting enough that I should write a blog post to straighten them out. But at the end of the day, it sounds like Inkitt is exploiting new authors. https://www.bloomberg.com/features/2025-ai-romance-factory/

Nationalism price tag 🇺🇸💸 Trade war cost average household $1,277/year (Tax Foundation). Populism isn't free - someone always pays. 👪💰

Hi Casters. I read something this morning that made me want to talk a bit about the oversupply of capital in VC https://avc.xyz/drinking-from-a-firehose

looking at engagement to price ratios and benchmark has been a great trading strategy for the past few months if not years even more true for natively social assets like clankers

So in the 12th century a Song emperor had to pay a nomad warlord in the north 100k “taels” of silver and 200k bolts of silk a year. He fomented revolt by a vassal warlord to main warlord to take him down. But new guy’s clan took over more territory and the capital and drove the Songs south and they then had to pay 200k taels, 250k bolts of silk. On a shrunken territory/tax base. Moral of the story. I don’t know. I’m not sure there’s one. Be a warlord rather than a Song emperor? The history of China appears to be a history of paying off warlords who then kept coming back for more.

Moving to a third world country puts the global financial system and the importance of self sovereignty into a perspective that would have been impossible for me to have if I had lived my entire life in the United States.
