Any tips transitioning back from paternity leave? Currently, I'm helping my wife with our newborn almost all day and night. I can't see how I can step away and get back to work and not have her go crazy with all the support that's needed...

Set clear boundaries. If you tell both work and your wife that you have a “flexible” schedule you will end up disappointing everyone

Kids are learning machines and most of what you’re doing now will change in weeks/months & bring a new set of challenges/joy. Each of your responsibilities will ebb & flow as the family’s needs evolve. Prioritize communication & meeting your partner where they are on those hard days - better than logistical help

Do you have your parents nearby? Are they able to help? Even just an hour or two of help makes a huge difference. We alternated 'overnight duty' to keep everybody sane.

Highly recommend sleep training(Huckleberry app is great), take turns on night & mornings. If you find you have more energy than your partner, surprise them and take the feeding (if bottle), diaper change…Before going back discuss a routine and start implementing it prior to returning.

Take a pay cut and use partial paid family leave via state and get out of work 1-2 days a week so she isn’t alone for more than a couple days a week.
