Working on a crypto slideshow for the tax group of a large bank. They’re not crypto native, so first few slides are “intro to blockchain.” Most lawyers start from the bottom of the tech stack and explain consensus while the audience’s eyes glaze over. I might start with Farcaster instead. Thoughts?

I haven't talked to banks/accountants, but my typical narrative for beginners is "tech that can work without intermediaries that we are forced to trust". Some other examples: ENS (domains without being forced to trust ICANN), MakerDAO CDPs (loans without being forced to trust lender/borrower), etc.

I think Farcaster is a great way to showcase blockchain for those that aren’t cryptonative — “pinning” to get more eyes on this. Also, @cryptotaxguy.eth makes phenomenal slide decks. https://warpcast.com/paragraph/0x3ad257dd

You should reverse engineer for what your unit wants to get out of our industry. You need to tell a different story of "why" depending on your internal objective. Maybe you can share more details here or in DCs. I think there is no one size fits all approach with this.

imo, start with something recognizable to get them to care about blockchain verification. e.g., we know the mona lisa is in the louvre... but is it? who says? The curators? We have to take their word for it, there's no way to trace provenance. Digital files are even worse, RCS problem etc. Enter: blockchain

Lately I've been talking about ethereum and similar blockchains as shared virtual machines on peer-to-peer financial settlement layers, or as censorship-resistant digital frameworks for commerce and apps. That still involves inaccessible terms though...

It’s a good idea imo - Warpcast to Farcaster = Gmail is a client to email as a protocol is a good mental unlock for people I’ve found so far.

1) Why it matters to them/problems they can relate to that BC solves 2) BC is a public ledger 3) How/why tokens are used - there's purpose other than speculation 4) Intriguing tax questions 5) A place to dip their toes in (FC?) HUGE thanks 2U - I'm beyond curious but not native and have learned a TON from your posts!

I have to give a 30 min presentation like this in the fall. If you don’t mind sharing I would love to see how you do it. I would attribute you of course
