Removing the 400 follower threshold was a great move. I’ve been stuck at 200 followers. I feel like there was a negative feedback loop where I couldn’t get views on casts so couldn’t get followers so I couldn’t get views.

I'm a collector and investor. Whilst I haven't yet reached 400 followers, I spend an enormous amount of time engaged with the platform. It's disheartening to think that w/out the badge my ability to interact with others might be handicapped. Pls use your power responsibly and don't write off the average user 💙

I personally really like it. It's a great way to show quality, active users of the platform that haven't hit an arbitrary follower amount yet. It incentives thoughtful, frequent engagement.

Better than active badge for sure! After a while everyone can get to 400 followers Badges for “established artists, founders and developers” Appointed according to the contributions made You build good frames and stuff? You get a badge You sold tot collectors? You get a badge Maybe voted by the community

I think its bad for retention of users who dont qualify for the power badge. Largely a kick in the nuts for someone who dutifully works at their presence here but hasnt gotten noticed by the "right people". A lot of talk going around about the "gatekeeping" that "feels like another twitter". Wrong direction imho.

Switching to an opaque algorithm is frustrating for those of us who didn't get the badge. When I came here from Twitter I was hoping we wouldn't end up with a closed source algorithm that decides who gets more/less views. It's a downgrade.

I like amplified exposure for engaged users.... but I do not like the opacity of criteria to get one, unless I missed the cast about that, which I may have. For instance does it go by your DEGEN ranking? Did you need to have an active badge for X time period? .... most importantly, how can I get one? 😆 🤓

For now I think we gotta take whatever works and keeps the space healthy but long term I’d like to see some sort of game theory inspired approach to reducing spam rather than an arbitrary / centralized AI approach.

Power badges represent high quality users, first of all active users of the farcaster protocol, and then those who provide valuable information. This filters out the noise that some bots' accounts bring. In the long run, the platform will move in a good direction.

I'll love to see a "Contribution BADGE" based in - If you've got more than 1000 likes in a cast - If you've got more than 500 comments in a cast - If you've got more than 100 comments from Active Users in a cast

The benefits are obvious. But what could be improved? 🔮 Minority language casts are discouraged. 📝 as, e.g. pointed out by @renstern.eth 🔮 Critical views are discouraged. ➡️ Slower true development. 🔮 Minority views are discouraged. 🔮 Generates centralization not decentralization.
