Worth addressing - Why do I need another wallet to use [any app]? Answer: Mobile is where people spend most of their time. You have to solve for mobile. When you transact on mobile today, it requires kicking up a FULL NEW APP to transact. That hand off fails 50% of the time. The only way to (currently) solve this is a smart wallet, so that you can have one tap transactions. We as builders don’t want you to have a new, empty wallet. It’s got no liquidity. We’d love for you to use all the liquidity in your existing wallet. But the wallet experience is SO BAD (we’ve gotten used to it in crypto, but others won’t) that it’s less total friction to just set up a new wallet. Every transaction thereafter feels like butter.

@privy has come closer to solving this issue than any previous entrant. However, wallet fragmentation will be the new problem we face. We need a solution, like an SSO for wallets. Smart Wallets still don’t solve this imo. Privy (or similar) could.

Worth noting that I'm not a fan of wallet every time either.....but: 1) I didn't know the dev issue that you've explained above which is helpful to know--that we can't do it on mobile right now without it. 2) When I did /ponder it took 1 login and 1 click and it was there so I thought that was pretty slick...if we have to it. I don't think non-devs know about these limitations so good to hear.

agree on that; using rodeo has made it obvious for me as the experience swiftly reached the next level

Hey, @cojo.eth how are you? I’m not sure why, but my balance hasn’t changed from $12. I participated in 4 pools, won 3, and lost 1, but my balance didn’t update. Also, even when I export the key, my wallet shows a balance of zero. Can you help me figure this out?

So, it's solving one problem, by creating a new one. Not criticism, I know builders are doing their best. But that's what it feels for me as a user.

I tried to convince Android and Chrome teams to integrate wallets to have a better and seamless experience across Android and Chrome. Some PMs were very interested, then FTX happened, ChatGPT happened and all those efforts were abandoned. They might not have happened anyway even with the whole shift to AI.

a web3 browser type experience (w embedded wallet) may solve for it but needs critical adaption mass to fly.

mobile ux is the hidden bottleneck of defi adoption. smart wallets + account abstraction will flip the script. what looks like convenience today becomes necessity tomorrow
