Why doesn't my follower count correlate strongly with my engagement rate any more? Are there no more new humans left? Is my content only reaching the same people? https://dune.com/queries/4092721

as a newbie bloke, I’m a full blown yapper. And I receive zero engagement unless I go around replying to other peoples posts. Is there an explanation for this?

Yes this is the way here. It's called being a reply guy. Checkout /replyguys . It is partly a result of the decentralized nature of things here where Merkle (the Farcaster and Warpcast builders) went a bit hardcore on the anti-spam measures to the extent that you can only pretty replyguy until you get social proof from established users.

Oh, 1 more thing. Maybe update your profile pic to be a pic of you? Make it easy for people to know you are a human.

What's wrong with replying? If you are adding to the conversation, moving it forward, uncovering new angles to think about then you are helping to build the cultural fabric of this place. Stick with it and keep replying. It's a solid strategy. Also check out new channels that are niche and ones that you are really into to connect with new people. You'll be able to easily cast in there and find engagement because those are your people. HMU in a few days and let me know how it's going. I'd love to learn about any other strategies you are trying that are working to connect with more people.
