This isn’t on my FC wishlist per se, it’s just the one thing Discord does better and is a major use case. Group DMs are another one. That would be in my FC wishlist.

Token gated channels built into the farcaster app natively would be wild Each channel creator has the option to create a bonding curve with parameters such as max tokens that can be customized...FC gets a small cut of sales so it's a direct monetisation approach as well Friendtech but with organic use. @dwr.eth bls

+1, token gated channels are the first step, even if they're public readable but gated writes. Second step IMO is enabling community governance for channels, ideally via onchain governed host (could be a smart contract fronting a group of people), maybe using something like EIP-1271 for action authorization.

+1. Token Gated Channels would be instant utility for everyone. Channels eventually turn into subscription models like friendtech.

Definitely agree. I also think you can take the concept a lot further. Token-gating always felt bolted on in discord and isn’t natively supported. What does that look like designed bottom-up? Maybe go a more decentralized route? Channels governed and accessible by all token holders?
