Private, token gated channel. The most important things that happen in Discord are typically hidden from the general public.

+1, token gated channels are the first step, even if they're public readable but gated writes.

Second step IMO is enabling community governance for channels, ideally via onchain governed host (could be a smart contract fronting a group of people), maybe using something like EIP-1271 for action authorization.
