man, nothing has destroyed me this year like this meniscus tear chronic illness, a life threatening condition, a breakup, and a death in the family and none of them have gutted me like this

What are your restrictions? If you need any tips for one-legging it, I did it for 10 weeks this year after a tibial plateau fracture that also included a meniscus tear.

im not quite one-legged (just a fat brace for now), but a very large part of my identity has been rooted in outdoor activities (biking, climbing, hiking, dog stuff, etc) orthopedic appointment on tuesday where I'll hopefully get a full report on the damage

I was in a fat brace for a few weeks and OMG I hated it. Do you have to wear it to bed? That really sucked when I had to do that. I'm a side sleeper, so being forced to sleep on my back was rough. Injuries suck. Change our life in unexpected ways. But that's a chance to learn something new about ourselves, and it will get better. <3

oof. i can't sleep on my back (maybe physically cannot: obstructive sleep apnea) and im usually a front sleeper but i can't straighten my leg, so i guess im a side sleeper now i've mostly used the brace to support movement (because my leg has to stay bent, which is a strenuous position) so I haven't used it at night i tried, 'cause i was worried, but jfc fuck that and yes: life is gonna be different now, and I'll get to learn a lot about myself in these coming weeks and months. nothing like loss to teach you peace

I spent my summer in bed. It was rough. Farcaster helped me cope a LOT. I only discovered the place because of the injury - I'd hardly been able to post on Facebook and my reach tanked, a friend mentioned this place in her newsletter as having lots of potential for creators, so I checked it out. I'm glad you're embracing the potential. But also, let yourself be sad and grumpy, too. It's important. Screwing up your knee really, really sucks. You don't realize just how essential it is until you do.
