I wish there was a community notes style opengraph data tag that marked links to articles as paywalled.

Or take it one step further—automatically checks if paywalled, and then automatically picks the best path to skipping it using https://paywallhub.com/

ownership economics is so good that 99% of links I click are paywalled, and i feel obliged to pay many on a 1:30 exchange rate to afford the cost of assumed opportunity.

Solution could be costly. A chrome extension could solve this or even attempt to replace the paywall with actual content

Why don’t people give a heads up or am I just weird in that I don’t pay for any news/media beyond streaming?

I wish someone made a site where you could access all the content behind paywalls without paywalls. It's obnoxious we are paying to sell our data and be fed ads.

There’s structured data for it. Not sure how broadly implemented it is, but if publishers do make use of this it would be p easy to make a chrome extension…. https://developers.google.com/search/docs/appearance/structured-data/paywalled-content
