Yeah, as much shit they got for it, this feature is useful because people are careless with their seed phrase storage and shit happens

I know someone who lost six figs because theirs reset

ledger got less shit than they deserved, they lied the secret phrase was irrecoverable and no-one can access it before that stunt. Turns out THEY can. Also if I was to *trust* any company with my key, that company wouldn't be the same one that leaked my personal data. so no.

I have 2 sticks setup with the same key though and a couple laying unopened.
The secret phrase is properly stored, and thinking about splitting  it and sort of multi-friend store it with friends so family can access it in case of life accident

Yes, I agree with this sentiment as well. Wouldn't have gotten a ledger in 2016 if I knew.

But we're here now and I acknowledge the recovery is useful for most people.
