Think about who is driving this conversation. By and large it is not organic user feedback as it is employees The Lens marketing team is manufacturing this perceptual divide in an attempt to win net new users; punching up at the more successful service. I don’t believe it is a reflection of the reality today, but them trying to shape the future

It is a reflection of dwr’s contempt for artists and their opinions of his protocol and client. Why do you think dwr used AI generated images for all the commemorative Warpcast or token artworks? Revealed preference: art isn’t important enough to hire a human to make something cool for our culture here

I feel like that is a personal resentment. It’s not borne out in the product, where I have seen over time how Warpcast has become much friendlier to visual image display and also supported pretty effortless one click minting. If Dan hated artists he would design a product that diminished the work and made it harder to get paid? A silly commemorative nft has no bearing

a silly commemorative artwork lackadaisically shit out reveals a lack of concern or taste for art as well as a lack of concern over what feelings this will invoke in all the artists who use and stan the protocol daily

But it’s not creative(that’s the point) that’s where the offense happens And responding to people who have deep considerations of this space with snark makes these people recoil, Dan, it makes your DAU lower, this place isn’t X, being a snarky asshole doesn’t fly the same way I know because I like to be a snarky asshole too

Oh, guess you're the arbiter of what's creative now, too. Check out /dwr. Or the Mint with Warps weekly initiative we did last year with a bunch of Farcaster native artists. Clearly I hate artists.

Okay, well unfortunately, there’s a lot of distrust and faith lost in this space at the moment, see OGs leaving or heavily considering leaving, and that suggests there’s an assortment of pressing issues. Repairing the relationship with these people and artists should be high priority. https://warpcast.com/yesyes/0xab1f6a1a

Do you have the time? Maybe a open hall tavern this week would be a good place to discuss things in a more efficient and transparent manner

I think the ultimate revealed vs stated is coming on to a website and saying you don’t trust it or hate it or whatever. If that was the true feeling just leave! If you don’t like it hit the bricks! If Lens really is the superior product it is right there. Actually leaving is actually the most powerful way to voice discontent. This is decentralized but it’s not a DAO, and every person with an account doesn’t get to be a cook in the kitchen.

Welcome to life, Bias! Are you new here to crypto? What is the concern of an investor? It is to make a return. This is the chief concern. A guy that is able to make a million out of a social network that lacks product market fit seems like a guy you should invest in! And that is presuming we know the full timeline of what was invested when. It is entirely possible the raise occurred prior to the token “scandal”. There are too many unknowns here. And the cries of paternalism would be unending if DWR or anyone at Merkle said “don’t buy these shitcoins”. I myself have my own opinions on this type of behavior. You can see from my own reflections and posts I struggle with a dedication to capital accumulation over societal good. But I am not going to ask DWR to prostrate himself in front of me for not sharing my point of view. He acted rationally, and did not abuse his ceo position in the actions discussed above, based on what we know
