Think about who is driving this conversation. By and large it is not organic user feedback as it is employees The Lens marketing team is manufacturing this perceptual divide in an attempt to win net new users; punching up at the more successful service. I don’t believe it is a reflection of the reality today, but them trying to shape the future

It is a reflection of dwr’s contempt for artists and their opinions of his protocol and client. Why do you think dwr used AI generated images for all the commemorative Warpcast or token artworks? Revealed preference: art isn’t important enough to hire a human to make something cool for our culture here

Honest experience. Spent a lot of time onboarding artists to FC. My favorites all left and are on lens I’ve known a lot of those commenters for years

In terms of artist support, I've seen multiple artist have more success here than they did prior to coming to the Farcaster ecosystem. I think many could attest to that. It may very well be that the Lens team is more supportive of artists than the FC team -- I really have no idea -- but not the community overall. brb -- have to finish editing the next isntallment of Here for the Art that highlights Farcaster artists.

I was on lens a little last year; got a .lens name. Had trouble getting things to work; chalked it up to being early and only really good stuff is hard and worth sticking to in early days. But this bit of "marketing" solidified my intent to not go back and try it again. I guess I'm glad this happened because it saved me some time.

I'm not a lens employee but can point to warpcast (as well as almost every other space in crypto) and see there aren't enough women. It was a funny joke that could apply to nearly anything in crypto. But this conversation is an example of why I don't spend a lot of time here. To me it's an echo chamber of tech and crypto. There needs to be a perpetually online version of touch grass (ie, get out of the spaces you confine yourself to) because taking this as seriously as folks are without admitting there is a severe gender imbalance is basically simping for a vc funded platform which....eh....idk. Touch some digital grass, folks.

Can't tell if this is satire, or just cringe, competitive behavior.
