Woke up from a really good nap in my crate and everyone was gone. The house was silent. Eerily so. No footsteps. No fridge sounds. No one saying my name in the silly voice. For ten whole minutes I truly believed I would have to start using my Rewards money to pay rent. I started making a plan. Step one: sell Assistant #2’s bikes. Step two: learn how to open the kibble container. Step three: nap. Step four: plan more steps. Turns out they were just in the other room. “Working.” With headphones on so they “couldn’t hear” my cries for help. Like monsters. Hug your dogs. You never know what we go through.
