Do we *really* think $TRUMP will bring in the elusive ~mass adoption~? Crypto to me right now feels like when I first tried to enter in early 2021. It was bro-y, right-leaning (which isn't bad in itself of course, but i couldn't relate), and there were very few women and non-cis folk. I left after a week and didn't come back for a YEAR because I didn't see myself reflected in its communities. We need to ask ourselves *who* is being onboarded into the space with $TRUMP, and also be aware that Trump's current clout/influence over the crypto sphere is veering on culty and authoritarian. He will likely only push and validate the projects that benefit him and his inner circle - something that is not decentralised in approach *at all*. [CONTINUED]

My one silver lining is that, with a decentralised system, people can do what they want and find their tribes, independently of the political shitshow. After all, I'm here, aren't I? World of Women was created, bringing in a slew of women and more diverse profiles, and other projects followed suit. People can freely build alternatives, havens for people like me who feel disillusioned and, frankly, isolated right now. Hopefully decentralisation as it stands will be enough to allow for women, racial minorities, non-binary and queer folk to find their place despite the very grim outlook for crypto. But I can assure you that, right now, there is no way in hell my non-crypto gays, girlies and even somewhat left-leaning friends will be entering. Especially when we see that crypto's most powerful and public-facing players *sponsored* Trump's crypto ball and funded his campaign. Is it really 'mass adoption' if only ONE type of demographic / political leaning is being onboarded into the crypto space?

I would take "likely" out of this sentence: "He will likely only push and validate the projects that benefit him and his inner circle - something that is not decentralised in approach *at all*." And I don't think decentralized is in his vocabulary. I totally agree with you.

this is why i've been pretty much offboarding since the summer. all the developments in the space were all pointing to this and ppl no longer seem interested in solving the bigger issues that got me into it in the first place. we've raced to the bottom. there are some things i'm still interested in but they will probably be starved out eventually over the next few years

I hate it. It seems pretty cynical to me for a president to launch a meme coin at best. 🀷 So if you need someone to not be positive about it, I got you πŸ˜‚

Mass adoption requires inclusivity and decentralization not cults of personality. Building a diverse, welcoming community is key to crypto's long term success.

true mass adoption comes from tech that serves everyone, not personalities. the future is algorithmic, not authoritarian
