How do you feel about becoming a staked validator on the Unichain, as described in the white paper (https://docs.unichain.org/whitepaper.pdf), while $UNI is arguably still affordable? For the longest time, my intent was only to solo stake ETH on mainnet, but I'm thinking $UNI staking might serve as a hedge in case the "fat protocol" thesis doesn't truly pan out and the value accrues disproportionately to app-centered L2s, at least until the post-rollup-centric Ethereum economics settle into a long-term equilibrium. In which case Unichain might be a reasonably safe bet given its brand equity inherited from Uniswap and the OP Superchain. Thoughts?

uninspired. feels like a "well, we have this token..." kinda fit. Clear UNI didn't have a purpose, which was speculated at the time. May yet be a bad fit answer to Sushiswap and lasting liability.

I think there are two things to consider here. First this sounds like a great experiment and my gut feeling says „worth it“. App layer + OG + price = 🚀 But also they said they want to get to 250ms block times, so down the road the reqs will be incredibly high and potentially to much for home stakers. If you don’t mind unstaking if that happens and limits you I think this is worth a shot.

There's certainly most recently a consensus forming that relatively more value will accrue to the app layer (think DeFi) 590 $degen

Flashbots contribution is a huge mental incentive for myself. I once attended a Uni x Flashbots idea hackathon and whatever the both teams told us they are to do, they have carried it exactly the way they intended. I wonder whether any SUAVE integration will happen re: Unichain by any teams.

Some people did the math, the pe ratio is terribly bad apparently. So depends on what fraction of uni is staked it may or may not be worth it

For the short to mid-term I think it makes sense But the part I can't understand for long-term defi value accrual: tradfi will own the normie user relationship in finance for a very long time / forever If JP Morgan or DBS built their own chain or just forked uniswap in the backend, why would value accrue to uniswap?
