Almost every single thing human beings do in some ways alters nature. Why should death be the limit where we stop shaping nature towards our ends?

Ah but we have done it in an adversarial way. Shaping nature towards our ends is a strange dynamic when we are part of it - just a node in it really form a complex flow network perspective. so what we do to it ultimately affects us also - it’s all circular

Yes but we are the only creatures (as far as we know) who are capable of shaping nature, growing aware of some of the feedback effects, and adjusting our actions accordingly. Nature does not care about us; what we perceive as adversarial we criticize because it affects other humans

i see your point but i dont agree. i think humans THINK we are superior and have dominion over all. in fact that is a very judeo christian view and is probably the rational given to destroy the earth rather than work with it like some native or even shinto practices.
