he's right. not necessarily with the reasons behind slowdown — my guess would be primarily crypto tanking, but that's beside the point. i love farcaster, but it is far from a place i would recommend to *anyone* without hesitation (like what twitter used to be). we're still early (for better or worse) and there's a lot of work to be done.

I post original content daily, only here. It’s not sloppy seconds. It’s not someone else’s content, and the algo hates it and thinks 85% of the people who engage with me are bots. I don’t know how to navigate that anymore.

and you wonder why users dont feel comfy enough to spread out there wings and let interesting content develop when the man at the helm speaks this way to the users, and constantly hanging over spectre of fear of having to act a certain way to even be visible and feel welcomed. fkn weird man. lol that is not the kind of environment where “interesting content” is likely to develop. its like you are trying to grow a seedling, but you keep throwing rocks into the soil and blocking out the sun and not giving it enough water and still thinking somehow it will manage to grow.

Yeah, I don't understand this. One man's interesting content, is another man's trash and vice versa. The focus should be on onboarding users and letting them determine what's interesting and what's not, not trying to curate content from your existing userbase based on what you consider interesting, isolating and turning off many in the process. Increasing the volume of users / potential content consumers will attract more "interesting" content creators; if you build it, they will come.

"not enough interesting content" - at scale - perhaps true. Imo we (especially the cohort of 2024 who cast great content AND stuck around @pichi @proxystudio.eth @ruthveda.eth come to mind) need to get incentivised to onboard more people like us, organically, 'let the right ones in' approach. We are building a new tribe, anything else would be dishonest. Please make a better farcaster.xyz landing page @dwr.eth bc this is where I loose them: not clear at all why anyone should bother to go west.
