This has a number of reasons, I believe. When crafting something simple you can’t mask inferior work with distracting decoration. Also it’s a lot harder to take away than to add more to a work. Getting simple things right needs extra efforts in focus, clarity, precision and decision making. Same accounts for committing on a single thing when you have hundreds of options. 😅
