i've seen way too many crypto x ai decks recently that all almost entirely rely the "community to contribute knowledge" and some ambiguous set of applications to "drive demand" via a circuitous token incentive layer

with v little focus on actually building community, building an amazing product, or developing a moat outside of the token mechanism

yep. just another version of the "build it and they will come" attitude. except instead of "it" being a product, they think that building the perfect token incentives will make a community appear and provide sustainable high-value contributions. similar to a lot of the flawed thinking in daos.

ye, all are data silos other than one that i have seen which is open source. that i liked conceptually. but, to answer your other q, there had been near zero depth of thinking around bootstrapping network usage and community building. and nearly all lacked excellent UX insights. which leaves them as copy-pastable infra and little usage, retention, or moat other than a token network.
