Was excited about PWAs a while ago but why would you build a PWA app when you can build a snappy, beautiful React Native app with Expo?

hard to focus on a PWA long term but if the goal of your app is to prove out a MVP in a really short amount of time or you don’t care nearly as much about the extra bits of polish a native/expo app gives you then it’s a solid option

We’ve been talking about this recently and I’m concerned that the friction of a PWA impacts user behavior enough that it’s not actually a good way to test an MVP. there are ideas that work as apps that just won’t work as PWAs or web apps.

i honestly do not know of a single PWA that has successfully contributed to any meaningful business or venture. they are fantastic to quickly ship, but so much less so to iterate and compound.
