Was excited about PWAs a while ago but why would you build a PWA app when you can build a snappy, beautiful React Native app with Expo?

hard to focus on a PWA long term but if the goal of your app is to prove out a MVP in a really short amount of time or you don’t care nearly as much about the extra bits of polish a native/expo app gives you then it’s a solid option

My 2 cents: coding+deploy time of a PWA vs a native app, even built with RN, is at least x3 ... therefore if you are the only dev, or it's a fast-changing feature-rich app, features get released at 1/3 of the speed

Not worth the burden for many classes of apps (multiple builds, app store guidelines, have to use specific view libraries etc). Example is automod.sh. No need for a native app, a PWA is enough. The closer you are to b2b the less you need imo.

PWA is a way to ship to all desktop and all mobiles with one code base quickly and without much cost

PWAs get around AppStore reviews while RN doesn’t — that being said I’m very pro native code
