Highly recommend reading @hillis' piece here: https://warpcast.com/hillis/0x7418a96f The shift into the deployment era is going to be slower, more measured, and lead to productive use cases As a result, the manic feeling of the past will not be there, which could lead to cynicism and/or a hangover

I believe we are still somewhere between Hope and and Optimism (Optimism comes next) https://warpcast.com/juxton.eth/0xdf0b1bf6

the world runs on infrastructure that is turned off for silly reasons like you’re under 18 or don’t have two pieces of paper in the mail

1) good products have never been easier to build e.g. Base, others enabling FAST cheap execution + stripe accepts USDC + Hypersub 2) account abstraction infra makes it easy to focus on UX and not be limited by Crypto 3) Ethereum has proven stable 4) We see limits of current tech and solutions are being built - ZK - Quilibrium - Solana (?) - ETH L2 scaling 69) ETH + BTC becoming the norm financially via institutional participation

I completely understand and have been there before. I try to focus on the long term impact of how Ethereum will fit into our increasingly digital and divided society. This technology allows us to own and freely build digital assets. Historically increased ownership has correlated with more innovation and reduced poverty. And in the time period we're about to enter, where the whole world is divided, Ethereum will have an important role to play by allowing everyone in the world to play by the same verifiable rules Even today crypto is helping people, although it's not a sexy topic for us rich westerners. People in countries without stable currencies are using crypto to maintain their wealth and it's enabling people in unstable nations to accept payments globally for remote work or remittances I also think about this Vitalik cast a lot. The future I described earlier is not guaranteed and it takes people actively championing Ethereum's values to make it happen

Agree with you re:people. Tourists will come and go, only the real ones remain. You learn to find those people and build relationships with them. Crypto is a stance. Web2 and Web3 can build the same things, one can give that to you immediately, cheaply, and a sense of control… the other is slower, costly, and gives you actual control.

Found you here b/c of your x post of the same query. Expanding on my reply there: every major societal crisis traces at least in part back to the fundamental incentive structure of our economic technology. We have to keep believing there is something truly novel and transformative here, and we have to keep doing our best to draw that potential to the surface, because the alternative is to give up on a better system, and retreat into an indefinite and bleak march into boiling oceans. We don't have a choice. Crypto has to succeed. And if it's destined to fail then I will savor the delusion while it lasts, and enjoy the fight that much more because of it.
