what's unberably Europoor is when your paid jobโ€”I have none any more for 5 yearsโ€”has both the SF and European culture at the same at the higher levels but the middle management is so slacker that you are going through a mobbing of cultural shock the entire year.

However: Tangen likes being European, and so would most Americans โ€œTrue, the US produces more innovation. The global economy needs the US, or at least a few inventive bits of itโ€ โ€” but thank god Iโ€™m not forced to live there. (Will move when I want to fundraiseโ€ฆ)

the classic american model is everyone for themselves: commercialize everything and make the people work for their health, education, and joy. i think it is true that lots of americans then work harder, because whatโ€™s the alternative?
