Japanese guy reached out on LinkedIn to ask for a dev job. Asked him to hop on a call.

Accent not "Japanese" and cam turned off. Asked him to turn cam on for minimum opsec.

Was indeed Asian so spoke to him in Japanese but he couldn't understand a word (my JP is decent).

it did not occur to me at the time that they might be north korean, assumed they were chinese in fact due to accent and appearance 😂

i should've tried speaking in korean to see what kind of reaction he'd give!

crypto is an easy target because you know they're gonna have some form of value on them, it's just a question of is the amount worth your time

but i think this applies to normies as well, just takes a bit more effort to determine how to penetrate
