LEE UFAN (1936-) Dialogue / 2017 / acrylic on canvas Lee Ufan is a leading figure in the important postwar Japanese art movement Mono-ha (School of Things). Materials like stone, wood, paper, and iron are presented with almost no interference. This encounter between the manmade and the natural suggests that everything in the world exists not in and of itself, but rather in a relational state of harmony or resonance.
