A little unsure how I feel about the approach of having to pay Warps to cast in certain channels.

Especially with warps being a paid thing, rather than an earnable currency.

Would rather see a reputation system be the gatekeeper, than just wealth.

I don’t think payment actually stops bots.

As a userbase comes, bots will too.

Bots succeed on paid platforms, because most things being spammed are profit generating ventures, so it’s just an added cost to them.

Humans don’t have the same math.

I see both sides: Warps were main tipping token before Degen became wide-spread. So you could earn them by receiving tips. Maybe fading legacy? 

You can't game Warps which makes Warpcast fairly bot-free compared to X. Would be great to white list power-badge users = reputation-based.

Use /nook or /supercast and you don’t need to! Warps and channel gating is just a warpcast feature, not on the protocol level

Agreed. Ain’t worth 500 warps to cast in /ai or other channels I don’t use often

Yeah I actually entirely agree. Paying for access also opens up a can of worms, there needs to be another bot resistance mechanism. Reputation/active badge could be a better metric imo.
