Two spirit is a Native American thing, some tribes have essentially a third gender role, where individuals considered as "two spirit" frequently take on assumed norms of the other two typical genders

wow. that seems so niche, they need to have a legend. the first time i saw xe and ze i had no idea what they were. and if they have a legend, that's educational for the folks that don't know. i hate labels, and also feel the same way about music genres.

in middle school i was a skater boy w hair like mowgli in jingle book, and kids always asked me if i was a girl strong distastes for labels re identity bc it’s usually someone who wants to give you a label more than it is a person wanting one

Yeah it's pretty niche, no idea what the genesis for this UI is, but usually the easier route is to just offer three checkboxes: male, female, other (with an input box to specify) I’m not a huge fan of labels either, which is probably why I’m immune to people trying to troll me
