100%% turning off the notifications has been one of the best decisions for me. also i started a list of tasks in one app (apple reminders) and when i open any social app and see there something that feels more like ToDo than iWant - i add a task for that. doing social for work should be treated as work

These two and others I originally got from Tristan Harris et al. at the Center for Humane Technology (f.k.a. Time Well Spent): https://www.humanetech.com/take-control Although in your first case it was originally "turn off all *non-human* notifications" (i.e., you can still be reached by your important people)...

one tip i learned and incorporated was to not have any apps on the home screen so that if i want to use an app, i have to search for it intentionally

Not for everyone, but one more if you dare to do it - one screen. Basically (from a laptop/Macbook perspective), ditch additional monitors, and use the one on the device. And then full screen the application being worked on. It also means your set-up is the same anywhere you go.

Good tips I also do daily screen time limits, except the essential apps, of about 1-2 hours per day. The screen time passcode is given to a trusted person

Notifications are a huge problem. I need to do a better job off turning off any app that abuses them. Also a great idea to reduce clutter and remove apps from Home Screen
