Manipulation is the name of the game. How do you manipulate algorithms, how do you manipulate human behaviours. Manipulation for the sake of metrics. I want to be able to contribute to something better.

The ongoing DEX adoption (both volume and users), is a prime example of clear value being more important than UX. This isn't to say there hasn't been work to improve the UX for DEXs, but they're hardly the poster boy of 'won't even know you're using a blockchain'. Sure, the meme casino, but they're valid users.

Web3 today, is like if there were 10,000 and about 10 games. And we ask ‘where are the users’. What are you building for users?

Web3 has an end-user application famine. We have all the infra and tooling you could ever want, with so few building on it comparatively.

Speaking to folks over the last day or so, and the power is slowly shifting over to consumer app builders. Ecosystems and networks need users.

I wonder how much the US presidential race is keeping users on Twitter. People love a good shit show.

If you’re building games and are in Singapore, and you’re thinking/not thinking about reaching an audience, feel free to DM me.

I think Paul Graham’s recent piece on ‘Founder Mode’ can be extended to ‘process’ in general. The officialisation of creativity and building, in search of being perceived as professional or serious. Causation-correlation etc… but lack of innovation at larger orgs may imply something.

I've gone to using gmail in browser (which I've never liked...), and the amount of times I've archived an email by mistake is kinda crazy.

That move against NFTs has been dangling on the precipice for a while. NFTs are in need of a reinvention, this type of move can stifle the innovation and aggressive experimentation that NFTs right now. Or at least, it will make some folks wary, and increase legal oversight. Which isn't a facilitator of innovation...

Crypto Twitter is not a growth vector. This doesn't discount the work of some folks, but its hype-centric (which isn't dissimilar from other industries). The issue is hype is so incredibly bad for crypto, where they need to have long term growth, opposed to short term growth.

What Web3 is really missing, is more tools and services. Keep building the foundation, but never the house.

Crypto really feels like it lives up to the 'magic beans' rhetoric, when so many are chomping at the bit to rally around a record breaking grifter.

Web3 needs to try and bring in younger users, and builders who want to build consumer products. The space has made strides in tooling and performance, but not in end product that solves problems.

I wonder how many companies across the entirety of the Web3 space scaled up due to finding PMF.

Web3 needs more younger folks coming in and building. Especially Web3 games.

Consumer app discoverability is way more of an issue than onboarding for Web3 games or applications today. Without a discoverability solution, products will live and die on hype.

Creators are cool. That said, the heavy dependence on KOL-type creators in Web3 is driving hype cycles, opposed to longer tail adoption. These content creators need to talk about what is hot, or they become irrelevant. I get it. But more distribution options are integral for sustained growth.

I think everyone should get paid, but 20%+ of an allocation of tokens going to the team is kinda wild.
