I think we’ve been in auction price < book value for so long that it feels treasury growing necessarily feeling like it’s arb gap even higher but treasury can grow indefinitely with a growing or stable auction price no? feels like this might be a false dichotomy

actually, thinking on this more, I think it's absolutely possible that forced spending would increase the quality of props, with more people submitting. It'd depend on how much attention we can sustain on that perpetual funding- initially i think we'd definitely see a quality boost but idk if we could keep it going

I'd say yes, less exciting. The only benefit I could see would be props would be easier to get passed, since there'd be some urgency in spending it before it gets burned- but there's a difference between trying stuff to see where it goes and being careless, and I think this would push us over that line.

I wrote a diatribe about Spring Summer 23 and was ignoring character count. I wasn't able to salvage it. I think adoption & rentention > burn rate & scale. One Noun Everyday Forever doesn't work without good people. Keep Nouns Weird

I would allocate a percentage of the treasury to be shared with established builders to go out and shake the trees of their networks to onboard and build connections and experiences for the DAO. Help trusted teams that have big ideas and have ways to execute but may lack funds or some technical or organizational skills

“burn” the extra eth by sending it to sanctioned subDAO treasuries; Gnars, Foodnouns, Lils, Public, Builder, pNouns, Nouns BR delegate them Nouns, have the split % be determined by # of nouns delegated or something. lots of debate to had around the split % but use the subDAOs

‘Saving’ is relative imo. Overspend can be a real concern where treasury depletes off before it replenishes. From someone who got actively involved in contributing only recently, I felt Nouns definitely have leant towards being optimistic when it came to approving proposals than being overly conservative.

Certainly a challenge, which will require a new mechanism so that it doesn't prevent the DAO from carrying out ambitious projects. Perhaps a different kind of due diligence for this type of proposal or an additional auction (Treasury's Nouns?) to help finance a specific proposal might even be favorable

The most exciting thing for me when I was first getting into crypto was always wondering "how big can it really get?" In an environment where so many projects are narrow in scope and VC centric, it is wonderfully refreshing to see Nouns continue to dream big & without boundaries. Bigger feels better in this case.

a big draw to me about nouns was the potential for large scale public works (i.e museums, parks, etc) intuitively made sense for spending to slow during 🐻/🦀 altho i do like the idea of some forcing fn on spending. larger scale works have more cultural staying power vs things that could turn over every couple yrs
