@rounds channel idea: set up /nouns-devs and invite any dev to cast stuff they've built and payout eth via weekly rounds channel host decision is probably important if we're learning from the success of /nouns-animators and how @sloppy has been absolutely crushing it onboarding animators @w1nt3r would you be open to?

seems like the fork threshold raising prop isn't passing anyways but i'm curious to understand the sentiment of the original proposal. is the idea that a fork is imminent and we need to stop it? if we think arbitrageurs accumulated close to 30% of the supply then i'd rather consider lowering the threshold

this is a common feeling / misconception, the thought that nouns hasn’t funded much outside of its own marketing things someone should build a microsite that shows all the non-nouns related no-strings-attached public goods funding we’ve done it’s definitely in the many millions and also relatively high % terms

nouns (to me) is an incredibly ambitious experiment exploring if memes can be the value capture mechanism for public goods (open source software, cc0 art, public privacy, etc) such that we can have more of those things without relying on altruism at scale

before accusing me of wanting to control the narrative… please read the text of the screenshot you shared it says (in bold) “NOGS has no price, no Liquidity Pool, no exchange.” and i’m the one being dishonest about $nogs not being what we funded?

yes BUT what i do find a bit troubling with $nogs comms is the “funded by nouns” official-ness marketing ppl have been messaging me “oh nouns funded a memecoin?” and i’m like ugh… no we funded a name service protocol and they decided to launch an incentive token on their own

good Qs. i think nounswap and $nouns has some overlap but isn't addressing the same goal. $nouns doesn't make the entirety of the 500+ treasury nouns available for bid / fungible. only whatever the dao deposits into the $nouns contract. i imagine any point in time that's likely less then 50 treasury nouns (<10%)

i’ve been in read-only mode for the past two weeks (besides dms) but i’m back! a back burner thought during the trip was that it’s great that the economic energy of “memes” are taken seriously now post memecoin mania back when nouns launched, pfp utility or art collecting were the main value comps
