If all we have to go on is that the Ethereum Foundation received a confidential โ€œvoluntaryโ€ inquiry for information from a state regulator, we should not be concluding that EF is necessarily under investigation or subject to a subpoena. Subpoenas are by definition compulsory not voluntary.

As far as I know: - Blackrock funded their ETH wallet for $100m yesterday - Seems like they want to move stock trading onto blockchain - Some US senators were begging Gary recently to not list ETH ETFs - ETH ETF getting delayed until at least May?!

it's just halting action meant to postpone ETF approval due to downstream implications. Arthur Hayes has written a bit on the subject (take it with a grain of salt, though): https://cryptohayes.medium.com/etf-wif-hat-4bf5a5609a61

did eth drop 10% because insiders are front running? or was it just overheated?

The SEC has to approve or deny spot ETH ETF applications this year. Reasonable minds differ on the likelihood of approval; I think "low." There's also a Fortune report today about SEC investigating ETH. It's been known for years that Gensler wants to reverse SEC policy and call ETH a security; easier said than done.

EF received a โ€œvoluntaryโ€ request for information from a โ€œstate authorityโ€. This doesnโ€™t mean the EF itself is under investigation.

SEC ETH stuff has already been priced in. They're just trying to FUD to get us to sell our coin so they can buy for lower.

Strange to me if they are gonna go the "ETH i a security" route is that they just approved the futures ETF a matter of months ago, after Grayscale loss and after ETH switch to POS. The plan is to torch it now? Hard to make rational sense of it.
