The SEC has to approve or deny spot ETH ETF applications this year. Reasonable minds differ on the likelihood of approval; I think "low."

There's also a Fortune report today about SEC investigating ETH. It's been known for years that Gensler wants to reverse SEC policy and call ETH a security; easier said than done.
