one of the biggest takeaways i have from yapster is similar to a big takeaway i had from polymarket.

if the app and the consumer experience is compelling, no one cares what chain its on.

spend more time building great consumer apps and less time fighting culture chain wars.

to a degree. i don't think anyone woulda tried it if it was on Tezos or even Blast at this point. I also think Polymarket would be 3x bigger if it was on Solana

the examples mentioned are speculative apps tho.

when an app crosses over from being crypto consumer to just consumer, the chain no longer matters because the non -crypto market dwarfs the crypto market. Financial speculation apps and defi are an exception to this rule but I think it's broadly true

That's where the energy is. Personally there's been multiple times I've thought of betting on Polymarket but I keep no real money on Polygon so I get to the bridging thing and just stop and move on. Or I bet with the 5 dollars in dust I do keep on Polygon instead of maybe 50 or 500 like I might do from Base or Solana.

I bet all those folks onboarding through phantom like to bet on sports and whatever else as well

I would argue that the Polymarket persona is different from the Solana persona. The appetite for risk and expected returns are very different.

I feel like in part that's because cross chain bridging is still such a pain. Gambling liquidity is on Solana so gambling products on Solana do better. Uock the liquidity and maybe the dynamics change?

bc let's face it most chains are ghosts, have almost zero TVL or are unusable. have you been on something like Celo, Cosmos recently? I recently did for tax reporting purposes and it beggars belief how ancient the UX felt
