ฤevapi (also known as ฤevapฤiฤi) are small, grilled minced meat sausages that are a popular traditional dish in the Balkans, especially in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, and Croatia.
They are typically made from a mixture of ground beef, lamb, or veal, seasoned with salt, pepper, and sometimes garlic or baking soda. The meat is shaped into finger-sized rolls and grilled over an open flame.
ฤevapi are usually served in groups of 5 to 10 pieces, accompanied by flatbread (lepinja or somun), finely chopped raw onions, and often with condiments such as ajvar (a red pepper relish) or kaymak (a creamy dairy spread).
They are a beloved street food and a staple at barbecues and traditional restaurants across the Balkans
