what if airbnb created a network of properties that you could buy fractional ownership in via a token? it's a win-win. airbnb monetizes broker fees from their ownership marketplace. and you as the owner can both earn rental income and have the flexibility of multi-city living.

Can you visit them on a fractional basis? If so, kinda sounds like an onchain timeshare

Great idea, but it’s very tough to execute. It’s only profitably to own an Airbnb because you’re able to charge way above pro-rated rental rates for the period desired. There are a few “fractional ownership” / multicity rental platforms that haven’t achieved scale because of the price point for members.

No. No. No. There are enough issues with housing in the Western world. This is a net loss for societies at large. Banks, hedge funds, and fintech start-ups buying up homes/apartments for financial gain is crushing society. Let people buy homes; let people sell homes. Keep finance out of it.

Bonding curve the more owners it gets as pricing so you can’t just have too many owners all renting for free? Pricing and free thing is interesting would definitely try and use it

Fractional been done to death in web2 with a similar model. Several of them failed. I don't see it working.

Have you seen the new ERC-404 tokens on Ethereum? They are based off of ERC-1155. Maybe this could be a real-world application for these experimental contracts 🤔

this would blow all the other RWA projects out of the water.. their existing infrastructure is huge that said, I know a few projects that are doing this at a pretty high level - almost ready to launch happy to share what they are if you have further intrigue

RE one of the worst applications for tokenization/fractionalization; technology-averse incumbents, constant meatspace issues which require coordination (e.g. seismic retrofit), inability to realize appreciation (since harder to get consensus to sell)
