Agree at the macro but disagree at the micro. Built On Ethereum audience isn't users, it's investors and other builders to counter the narrative that nothing good is launching on Ethereum. But yeah ultimately we will win by building the best apps.

intel began their inside campaign when they were the dominant processor and generally faster, to help convey a sense of a premium product. "built on ethereum" does not carry that weight – it's not faster than alternatives and does not convey anything about the product from brand goodwill sharing. It essentially is only geek signaling, akin to "this site built on LAMP stack"

in the end its a distracting conversation from the real brand problems that plague it. Eth has lost any brand narrative. I blame decentralization. I dont think it makes sense to build a brand from group think. This is a great case study for that. The argument around built on ethereum is a symptom.
