A mix of thoughts here:
Can't say if it's completely established principle, I think there is a spectrum, but to this day speculation doesn't drive what I'm building, despite when you realise one of very few things which can make you money in crypto, including Farcaster, is speculation!
Hence it's important to understand what is the game you're playing as a builder and how long you can play it. Ultimately, it depends on 4 things:
1) problem urgency & timing
2) quality of the solution
3) perseverance
4) community/support from fellow builders, as well ecosystem specific leaders (e.g. farcaster team)
Initially, I believed that in web3 you should maximize composability, today this ideal has shifted from requirements as well proposition perspective.
Public goods narrative is overrated, majority here to make money, not give away!
Decentralisation and ownership will always lose to usability, and not as needed as thought earlier. 3 replies
